An old and sturdy white and red striped light house juts out off the coast to be a light to ships at sea who are in need of safe harbor and protection from the storms at sea against an evening sunset off the coast. There is something special about seeing a lighthouse to me. They remind of a sentinel or guard watching over the coast line to be a source of light and safety for those out at sea to let them know that there is safety and dry land ahead to come home to. There is a strength to them even though they stand unprotected against the elements of wind, water and strong crashing waves. They withstand the storms of life and last for years if not centuries to guard the shore line and be a beacon to those in need of safety. I think of the song The Lighthouse that says if it wasn't for the lighthouse, tell me where would this ship be?
